About

My Philosophy
Every person has resilience within them; sometimes it just needs to be nurtured, supported, and encouraged. Together, we will work toward your personal goals, building skills and confidence to help you move forward. Whether you’re navigating a difficult life transition, coping with a mental health challenge, or seeking greater self-understanding, therapy can be a powerful step toward growth and healing.
Therapeutic Approaches
Play Therapy
An effective and developmentally appropriate approach for children as young as 3, Play Therapy uses play as a natural form of communication. Through toys, art, and imaginative activities, children can safely express feelings, process experiences, and learn coping skills. This method helps address behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, trauma, grief, and social skills development in a way that feels safe and engaging for young clients.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
A highly researched approach for healing from trauma, PTSD, and distressing life events. EMDR works by helping the brain reprocess difficult memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or trigger intense emotional responses. Clients often report feeling lighter, more empowered, and less reactive to past experiences. It can also be used to address anxiety, phobias, grief, and performance-related challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A structured, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on identifying unhelpful thought patterns and replacing them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. CBT is effective for depression, anxiety, OCD, and many other concerns. By learning practical tools, clients can break the cycle of negative thinking, change behaviors, and make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
A skills-based approach that combines mindfulness with strategies for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is especially helpful for individuals who experience intense emotions, have difficulty managing relationships, or struggle with impulsive behaviors. Clients learn how to stay present, cope with stress in healthier ways, and improve communication in relationships.
Gottman Couple Therapy
A research-based approach proven to help couples strengthen their relationship. This method focuses on improving communication, resolving conflict in healthy ways, rebuilding trust, and increasing intimacy. Backed by over 40 years of research, the Gottman Method has been shown to be highly effective in helping couples create stronger, more satisfying relationships.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)
I have completed specialized training in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, an evidence-based approach for helping clients reduce or eliminate chronic pain symptoms. PRT is rooted in the understanding that chronic pain is often maintained by neural pathways in the brain rather than ongoing physical injury. Through education, emotional regulation skills, and guided therapeutic exercises, clients learn to change the way their brain interprets pain signals. This approach empowers individuals to manage their symptoms, reduce fear surrounding pain, and live fuller, more meaningful lives. Many clients find that as they gain confidence in their body’s ability to heal, they experience less pain, improved mood, and greater overall well-being—no longer allowing pain to dictate or control their daily lives.
